Our client is a Private label high Fashion House who sell directly via online channels and also operate with a wholesale partner who are an established High Street Retailer and a major player within their market sector. Due to growth of the business and planned expansion, they are looking to recruit a Junior Buyer / Assistant Buyer to work along side the Head of Buying /Commercial in a very exciting and fast paced function.
Summary of Role
The Company prides itself on being Tailoring experts; providing expertise to our wholesale partner in a unique relationship in which they created the Tailoring department; providing wholesale brands & selecting Third Party brands and manage the department from start to finish, design to educating in store team members.
This role provides support to the Head of Buying/Commercial, a dynamic role in a small team which will give you access to a wide breath of the Men’s Tailoring brands.
You will need a strong understanding of retail, the process from start to finish, so you can be reactive to ‘what’s next’
You will be responsible for costing brands developed by the in-house design team, with a commercial eye to find efficiencies & improvements with factories.
You will join the Head of Buying at third party branded appointments and follow up from appointments, chasing samples, maintaining range boards, communicating across e-com, stores, VM, marketing & partner’s photography department to ensure the vision of the buy has clarity everywhere it touches.

The Role
- Responsible for critical dates within our own brands, managing when fabric mills need to be seen, fabric booking dates, factory production space & planning fits cost effectively.
- Costing brands designed in house to achieve KPI’s of the business
- Communicate directly to Factories
- Work closing with Design, Production & Merchandise/Commercial Teams to support day-to-day product data housekeeping.
- Create Seasonal Marketing Packs, to drive forward the Tailoring strategy with our wholesale partner
- Provide seasonal information to support VM, Ecom & Store Teams.
- Building relationships with the Third Party brands & working with Merchandise to identify opportunities to develop.
- Undertakes monthly comp shop to stay ahead of trends
- Participate by communicating relevant information and findings in weekly team meetings
- Ad hoc jobs, taking a pro-active view to the department & chase up emails & developing relationships with internal & external partners.
