The Role:
We have an exciting opportunity to join the Business and Commercial Banking (BCB) Intermediaries team as a head of sales responsible for growth within the trading sector.
Trading Intermediaries is a national team of Business Development Managers who own and drive term lending and trading product growth (asset finance Invoice Finance and Cardnet) with Business and Commercial Banking Intermediaries.
You'll be leading a team who are responsible for managing intermediary relationships and originating, structuring and pricing new client opportunities from the Broker portfolio. You'll also be responsible for working collaboratively with partner teams including credit, product and pricing to help drive transactional conversion and shape the client and broker experience.
What you'll be doing:
- Deliver and own a sales plan that supports new client origination and multi product distribution through third party introducers who operate in the Trading sector.
- Manage the senior relationship with hard-working and high impact brokers.
- Be accountable for the channel experience, ensuring that we focus high quality relationship and transactional opportunities.
- Role model client centric behaviour through personal demonstration and challenge non client centric behaviour when observed in others
- Through Inspiring leadership and promotion of Equal Opportunities, manage, motivate, develop, coach and appraise team members, so that individual and collective performance delivers stretching business goals.
- Develop the capability of the Business Development team and utilise specialist knowledge to support them in all aspects of their work. This should include deal structuring, business planning broker portfolio management and governance requirements.
- Provide oversight to developing, structuring and assessing client proposals in order to meet requirements and see opportunities to further develop income; guiding, recommending and supporting implementation of the appropriate solutions.
- Regularly monitor and evaluate the team’s performance against business objectives, recognising individual / team achievement and taking corrective action where appropriate.
What we'll need from you:
- Leadership experience – previous line management experience ideally required, managing small to medium sized teams, experience in coaching, development, performance management.
- Strong desire to work with 3rd party introducers of new business
- Track record of delivery – of driving exceptional performance through self and others.
- Understanding of the SME Market, sector knowledge and experience of 3rd party relationship management.
- Understanding of credit risk, product structures and experience in lending to trading businesses.
