Junior Account Manager

Purpose:
This person will join the Commercial team as a Junior Account Manager, reporting into the Commercial Account Controller or Senior Account Manager to provide excellent support for either the UK Aldi account or IE Aldi account and on joint projects.
The priority of this role is to support the account management team to be ahead of the customer needs, analysing data and commercials to understand key products and making proposals in line with both JZ and Aldi strategy. Day-to-day involved in the entire product lifecycle, in a fast-paced environment liaising with cross-functional internal teams (including Operations, Design, Sustainability and Technical departments) to improve the customer experience.

Responsibilities and Skills:
- Be the principal support to the Commercial Account Controller or Senior Account Manager within the JZ Commercial team.
- Day-to-day communication with customers liaising as appropriate with internal and external colleagues to resolve queries in a timely manner.
- Comfortable customer facing, including via Teams, working in a partnership manner.
- Reacting to and communicating product deviations quickly and clearly internally and with the customer.
- Assisting in the preparation of product costings prior to presentation of new products to customers.
- Monitoring, analysing, interpreting, and reporting relevant data on customer sales, net margins, and waste.
- Monitoring and identifying gaps in our customer product ranges and making proposals in a timely manner.
- Assist in the design process, including packaging, labour, design team, buying and technically when creating processes.
- Maintaining JZ and customer systems and processes in relation to their products, including specifications.
- Working closely with all colleagues to enable effective support related to our customers.
- Arranging samples for customers.
- Prepare reports and proposals for the account management team covering any area that could improve processes and drive efficiency.
- Provide general admin support including data, word processing, presentations; cover for colleagues; and maintain up to date records.
Knowledge
- Proven work experience as Junior Account Manager, Account Executive, or relevant commercial type role.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to deeply listen and absorb what is important.
- Ability to juggle multiple projects and deliverables at a time, while being methodical and maintaining sharp attention to detail.
- Calm and unruffled under pressure, with a good sense of urgency.
- Excellent organisation, time-management, attention to detail and able to prioritise effectively.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership of tasks and see each through to completion.
- Strong team spirit.
- Experience with reading, interpreting, and reporting data.
- Solid experience with MS Office (particularly MS Excel and PowerPoint) and confident to learn new systems.
- Able to travel, including internationally.
- A Levels or equivalent necessary, BA/BS Business Administration or equivalent preferred.
- FMCG / Supermarket Retailer experience essential, Horticulture experience not essential but preferred.
Salary Scale: £28-35K per anum
