Job description
KJCK-AM, the broadcast leader in news/talk/sports in Junction City, Kansas is seeking a talented and energetic, sports reporter/play by play/programmer to work on our legendary KJCK-AM crew.
Experience:
The person we seek must have an in-depth knowledge of all sports and be able to tackle complex subjects, making them easily understandable to the public. The candidate must also be willing to look beyond the obvious stories and be driven to make sports news come alive to our listeners.
Responsibilities:
- Fulfill assignments from the Sports Director, writing for broadcast and the web as well as producing audio-driven stories for broadcast.
- Require learning and mastering automation systems and remote broadcast systems along with video and audio editing software.
- Ability to master social media platforms is a must.
The position will cover local and regional sports, including but not limited to coverage of professional teams of interest, i.e. Royals, Chiefs, Kansas State; produce and anchor sportscasts and produce sports coverage of general interest for the newscasts and sportscasts.
Compensation:
Compensation is commensurate with experience along with a competitive benefits package including health insurance, 401(k), paid vacation and Employee Stock Ownership Plan.
