Longden Doors are recruiting an apprentice who wants to be involved within the bespoke solid timber door industry & further develop themselves within the joinery trade. Working for one of the most prestigious door companies in the UK, with over 175 years of heritage, including projects made for Buckingham Palace and Houses of Parliament. You will learn to operate machinery, power tools and hand tools in a safe manner.
What will the apprentice be doing?
- You will be working within a team of skilled joiners and wood machinists, to learn the skills required to manufacture bespoke timber doors and frames, as well as other bespoke joinery items
- You will learn to operate machinery, power tools and hand tools in a safe manner
- You will be committed to the apprentice programme and willing to learn from all formal development activities
Duties will include:
- Working towards making bespoke solid timber doors and frames
- Work proactively within a team, communicate with managers and supervisors
- Work from written and verbal instructions, including drawings, diagrams, sketches, calculations using measuring equipment where appropriate
- Operate machinery and equipment in a safe and correct manner using all safety devices and practices
- Such other responsibilities allocated which are appropriate to the grade of the post
