The company is seeking a Carpenter/ Joinery Assistant to become part of our growing office team. This role is hybrid by nature and will flex to support the business’ needs and obligations.
Joinery Assistant Position Overview –
Aiding, Supporting, and involved in the 3 phases of the business:
1) Cutting/Moulding Phase (Carpentry Skills)
2) Assembly Phase (Joinery skills)
3) Fitter Phase (Joinery fitting skills)
This generally involves; all aspects from Cutting timber to size from a Cutting list to Helping and aiding the assembling of staircases.
In addition to this adhoc duties will also be:
- Making sure the workshop floor is clear and workshop tidy in line with health and safety
- Cutting glue blocks and wedges for the assembly of staircases.
- Washing/ cleaning Vehicles.
- Loading and Unloading deliveries.
- The cleaning of workstations
- Carrying out health and safety checks
- Aiding the disposal team with wastage
Joinery Assistant Position Requirements - No experience required but (desirable)
- An interest in Carpentry
- Experience in a trade or in being a handyman (Not essential)
- An eye for detail and high standards of workmanship
- Fluent in English and have the full right to work in the UK
- Able to work from your own initiative or as part of a team.
- Full drivers’ license
- Based within commuting distance (Approx.1 hour away max)
- Positive and committed to delivering an effective customer service
- A sense of humour and desire to help others where need be
Experience in any of the following would be preferable:
Understanding of CNCs, woodworking machinery, power and hand tools.
