Description
At Shaw Trust we believe everyone has the right to live a decent and dignified life and an opportunity for rewarding work. We are a social purpose organisation challenging inequality and breaking down barriers to enable social mobility.
We are recruiting for the role of Job Coach to work with learners who have special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) to support them in work placements as part of supported internships programmes in Norwich.
Supported internships are a structured, work-based study programme for 16 to 24-year-olds with SEND, who have an education, health and care plan. The core aim of a supported internship study programme is a substantial work placement, facilitated by the support of an expert job coach. The internships provide the opportunity for young people to achieve sustained, paid employment by equipping them with the skills they need for work, through learning in the workplace.
The Job Coach will help match learners with suitable placements based on the learner’s job goals and interests and will help to prepare learners to enter the workplace. The Job Coach will support learners during their placement, including helping the learner to travel to their workplace, providing daily contact, pastoral support and facilitate learning alongside the employer.
This role will be peripatetic, working on site in Norwich and on site at the learner’s place of work within Norwich.

For this role you will need:
- qualification in English and Maths (minimum level 2)
