Job Title: Jewish Life & Learning Coordinator
Salary: £32,000 (pro rata)
Location: North London or Prestwich (Manchester) based
Contract Type: Part-time (15 hrs per week)

Langdon are an ambitious forward thinking Learning Disability organisation working with the Jewish Community in both London and Manchester. Langdon was founded 30 years ago, and we now help over 150 Jewish adults with learning disabilities and autism by providing education, supported living and employment services.
About the role
The Jewish Life and Learning Coordinator will work cross communally with the Jewish Community and Langdon Members to promote and deliver activities and events to enhance members Jewish religious and cultural engagement.
The role will be responsible for creating and implementing outstanding Informal Jewish education and events to support members’ Jewish identity and promote a pluralist Jewish ethos, Jewish culture, traditions, and values to ensure a meaningful engagement with Jewish life at Langdon.
Key Responsibilities:
- To ensure Jewish ethos and cultural awareness is embedded across Langdon
- Plan and incorporate activities around Jewish Festivals and Shabbat to actively celebrate the Jewish way of life.
- Leading colleagues in running effective Informal Jewish Education and social action initiatives and co-ordinating impactful community cohesion activities for Members to explore their identities.
- Working with the Jewish cultural team and Programme Manager, to ensure that Jewish content to programming is delivered.
- Research, plan, develop and implement activities and events, that meet the cultural needs of Members in Manchester and London
- Support staff teams in maintaining Kashrut in members’ homes and ensuring each home is kept within religious standards.
- Advise staff and assist with the preparations for major Jewish festivals – e.g. Passover, Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.
- Report on outputs, outcomes and impact of programme as part of review and evaluation process.
About You
Educated to GCSE level with a grade A-C in Maths & English, you are passionate about supporting people with learning disabilities and autism to live the life they choose. Ideally you have some experience in planning engaging sessions and informal educational programmes.
