Java Software Engineer Remote
Job description
Introduction
Our client is a leading aviation and aerospace company who design commercial and military aircraft for their customers across the globe! They are looking for a Software Developer to join them on a 6-month inside IR35 contract.
You will work as part of a small team under a software architect to develop, integrate, test and debug software in simulation and payload hardware environments.
This is a remote role, however you will be required on site 2-4 times a month in either Hertfordshire or Hampshire.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, integrate, test and debug software in simulation and payload hardware environments
- Work across multiple tasks to ensure timeframes are met
- Use your excellent problem-solving skills to ensure project requirements are met
- Work in an Agile environment
Skills & experience
- Experience developing software solutions in Java (Java 8 onwards & JavaEE)
- Experience with both Windows and Linux platforms
- Micro-Services & scalable, distributed software systems
- Knowledge of Enterprise Design Patterns and Spring Framework
- Previously worked with relational & Non-Relational Databases
- Software Modelling (UML) and documentation skills (UML)
- Unit & integration testing (JUnit, TestNG, Selenium)
- CI/CD (Jenkins / Maven / Nexus).
- SVN/Git
- Ability to work to Agile methodologies using JIRA
