Job Title: IT Technician
Department: IT
Responsible to: IT Manager
Hours: 40 over a 5-day week Monday to Friday

40 hours per week, based at d&b solution’s SW19 location, with the flexibility to agree a mix of office and home working dependent on the requirements of the business and following successful completion of probationary period. Overtime may be required in this role.

The Role Summary
Reporting to the Operational IT Manager, the main responsibility of this role is to support the business systems used by employees within d&b solutions. This will include the maintenance and installation of new IT hardware and applications as well as day-to-day IT support for the business.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The deployment and maintenance of IT equipment relating to the systems and business information applications; including digital signage screens, tablets, data capture, laptops and other devices
  • Setting up new users on the various IT applications used in the business
  • Ensuring that the hardware used by the departments is in good working order and any problems or faults are dealt with in a timely manner
  • Carry out periodic checks on the IT infrastructure within the company
  • Installation and testing of external hardware/software to interface with core business systems
  • Problem solving pro-actively with internal teams and external contractors to ensure successful and timely resolution of issues
  • Assistance with day-today IT administration
  • Working directly with IT providers as required
  • Dealing with day-to-day IT Support tickets
  • Supporting the development of customer applications
  • Ability to install IT infrastructure across our buildings
  • An awareness of health and safety policies, risk assessments and proactivity in implementing them

Technical Skills Proven IT skills, including use of Microsoft Office 365 admin centre and administration/support of key applications (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint). Working knowledge of an internal e-mail system and electronic diary is essential.

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft power platforms. For example, Power Apps, Power BI and Power Automate
  • Understanding of SQL databases
  • Knowledge of problem-solving issues with Microsoft Windows
  • Ability to identify gaps in our systems (both software and hardware)
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Deadline conscious and organised with the ability to prioritise and multi-task
  • Appropriate personal presentation with a confident and friendly manner
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively, relate to others, and work as a member of a wider team
  • Willing and flexible approach with the ability to work on own initiative
  • Excellent time management and planning skills, forward thinking and able to add value
