The Role:

We are recruiting for a self-motivated and driven Systems Administrator with VMWare and Windows skills. This role would ideally suit someone wanting to transition from a System Administrator role to System Engineer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prioritise production / business critical issues and escalate issue(s) to the appropriate global technical staff
  • Complete assigned tasks and normal duties with limited direct supervision
  • Plan, design, deploy, upgrade knowledge
  • Develop, publish, and adhere to standards, policies, and procedures
  • Maintain network-based applications / services
  • Install, configure, and support Microsoft operating systems and environments
  • Monitor and support Active Directory
  • New server purchases, set up, configuration and installation
  • On-going maintenance, system checks, security set up and support for existing systems
  • Monitor and ensure success of backup processes
  • Actively involved in problem resolution, follow-up, testing, workarounds and equipment suggestions

Technological Skills and Experience:

  • Has worked with VMWare 7.0 VCenter Management
  • Excellent Windows operating system (Windows 7 & Windows 10)
  • Windows Server 2012, 2016 and 2019 management
  • Office 365
  • File server maintenance and management from a security basis (Shares and file / folder access)
  • General data centre environmental requirements for day to day operations
  • Develop and evolve system monitoring and notification processes and actions
  • SOX compliance experience – training given
  • Patch and systems maintenance out of hours
  • Incident/Request control management
  • Basic understanding of VLAN / DHCP / DNS / UDP / TCP / ports

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Applicant must be willing to travel domestically and internationally
  • Position requires a valid Driver’s License and passport
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with others, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ideal candidates are flexible, self-motivated, and self-managing, with a strong sense of team and the ability to work independently
  • MCSE / MCSA and ITIL V3 knowledge / training or the equivalent job experience
