Purpose of role:
The Category Manager within our Consumer Products team will manage sales reporting tools that enable sales growth and business performance. The Category Manager will assist the Category Development Manager and Head of Category to analyse available data, identify trends and performance drivers, and provide insightful recommendations to grow sales.
You will spend time analysing partner data to uncover new findings that inform our strategy and guide us to the right decisions. On occasion you will be required to present your findings directly to Partners. This individual will be expected to develop and maintain a thorough understanding of business processes pertaining to all aspects of the assigned Consumer Product teams customers. Successful candidates will have relevant Retail or Category Management experience and are looking for a new challenge. Natural curiosity, crystal clear communication skills, and a collaborative working style in a fast-paced team are required.
Main responsibilities:
Manage weekly sales reporting tools for assigned customers. Provide predictive and insightful analysis and recommendations.
Conduct ad hoc sales analysis.
Prepare and manage a core set of partner specific performance presentation decks. Occasional partner facing presentations will also be required.
Manage and present internal sales updates at weekly and monthly Trade and S&OP meetings.
Support the Sales Team in preparing for customer and internal business reviews.
Work with the rest of the Category team to share best practices in reporting and tools development.
Support the team with the ongoing development and implementation of new reporting and data resources.
Support the continued enhancement and evolution of our analytics capabilities to a best-in-class level.
Education and/or qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or 2+ years of full-time vendor/supplier experience required.
Essential criteria:
Experience managing reporting tools and querying data.
The ability to create compelling presentation decks based on insight from the data.
Experience pulling data from internal and customer data portals. Power BI is desirable. Asda Retail Link is a plus.
Microsoft Office proficiency, intermediate Excel and Power Point skills.
Skilled in merging diverse data from different platforms, formats, and environments.
Category management or sales analytics experience preferred.
Experience working with International Retail Accounts, e.g. Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury, a plus.
Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written. Other EU languages is a plus.
