We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced IT Support Officer to join our dynamically growing business at our facility in Atherstone, Warwickshire.
This opportunity is for someone with around 2-3 years’ experience within the I.T industry and is looking for the next step in their career. The role offers an excellent opportunity to build on present knowledge and skills in several IT disciplines including assisting with planning and executing a modernisation plan on an existing Windows network, supporting a bespoke developed software application, and helping to set up an internal IT customer service support/helpdesk function to the business.
Main responsibilities:
· Supply ICT technical support for our colleagues who are our internal customer base,
· Install, support/support, decommission PCs, printers, servers, telephone system extension and other ICT related equipment as needed,
· Undertake troubleshooting of ICT problems that arise to achieve a Right First Time (RFT) fix to reduce potential impact on manufacturing and general business as usual/normal working day,
· Log all incidents and resolutions in a ticket management system,
· Maintain an ICT Asset Register incorporating device age/replacement window, purchase cost/upgrade investment tracking, software asset management (SAM) for licensing compliance and insurance valuation purposes.
· Help with planning and documenting/executing/reviewing testing plans on software updates for a bespoke software application
· Help with creation/maintenance of system architecture/configuration documentation
· Help with monitoring of the ICT infrastructure for uptime and availability including servers (MS Windows Active Directory (DNS/DHCP), shared directories, anti-virus/malware protection, backup and restore technology)
· Consult with external suppliers/support companies as needed to resolve issues.
· Help with planning and executing a broad ICT modernisation agenda while minimising downtime risks on the current infrastructure
Desired Skills:
· Microsoft Windows 10 desktop operating systems
· Microsoft Windows Server 2012R2, 2019 Standard operating systems and associated networking roles/functions
· Experience of conducting a structured testing plan for software releases
· Initiative-taking and able to work with minimal direction
· Excellent communication and people skills
· Ability to work effectively in a team and get on to achieve the required goal
· General IT software/Office skills including MS Office 365 among other applications
· CompTIA A+ accreditation or similar qualification
· Familiarity with PCs, laptops, printers of varying makes/models
· CompTIA N+ accreditation or similar networking qualification
· Familiarity with modern switched networking technology (VLANs, IP addressing) using Ubiquiti Unifi switches, Wi-Fi access point infrastructure
