Job description
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced IT Support Engineer to join our large support team working in our ‘outstanding’ hospitals. Work will be focused around desktop and mobile devices so the successful candidate should have experience working with Apple and Android devices as well as desktop and laptop computers. A proven track record in excellent customer service is crucial in this busy role. Work will be based around the main hospital campus in central Bristol, however the Trust has sites throughout the city, so a driving license is essential.
The post holder should have at least two years’ experience working in an IT support role. An MCSE or MCDST qualification is desirable but not essential. Experience working within an ITIL based environment would be beneficial as would experience with Apple DEP and VPP systems.
Please note the post holder will be required to work some time both before and after core office hours to gain access to busy areas, they will also be required to work as part of a weekend ‘rota’ on a 1 in 10 basis. We currently have 2 positions available, one based in Weston and the other one in Bristol

Positions available at both the Bristol and Weston sites working as part of the 3rd line support team, the post holder will be responsible for the provision of desktop software and hardware support to the Trust’s computer users. End-user
devices consist of desktops, laptops and iPads. Workload will be allocated by the Service Desk and the Trust’s senior engineer.

- Mobile device support
- The build, deployment, administration and support of the Trust’s mobile device fleet
- Installation of IT equipment
- Imaging and encryption of new devices
- Deployment of equipment
- Responsible for the resolution of user problems
- Resolving problems within a reasonable timeframe (SLA) either by correcting or escalating to the relevant support organisation;
Ensuring that all actions relating to the problem are recorded on the Service Desk system in a timely fashion;
Reporting all exceptions to the Senior IT Support Engineer for further escalation.

- Hardware fault diagnosis/resolution on PCs, laptops, mobile devices and peripherals
- Office 365
- Roaming profiles
- Bespoke Clinical applications
