Because of the rapid growth, the company is looking to recruit an Apprentice IT Technician to join their growing team. You will provide IT technical support to all of their schools mostly in the Enfield Borough, North London.

School IT Support Technician - Field based
A local MSP for schools is looking for an Apprentice IT Support Technician to join their team covering the Enfield area.
As well as relevant experience, you will have a flexible and can-do approach to whatever tasks you may be asked to fulfil, the ability to work well with others, and the confidence to use your initiative when required. You will be supported by the IT Manager but at times independent working may be required. In these situations, you must be able to demonstrate a successful problem-solving attitude and prioritize work appropriately.
Key Responsibilities:
● Maintaining a comprehensive database of all support and fault requests and, with support, prioritizing according to need
● Responding to faults raised through IT log system for all schools
● Providing support to staff and pupils as required in relation to the technical aspects of IT hardware, software, and cloud-based software.
● Due to the issues raised the successful candidate may be required to liaise with outside parties
● Support various types of hardware including: PC’s, Laptops, Tablets, Printers, Copiers, Interactive whiteboards/Panels, Sound Systems, and any other hardware/software not listed
Infrastructure and Equipment:
● Supporting the IT Manager in the effective operation and management of the IT network of all the Schools
● Supporting the IT Manager with the creation and management of all network user accounts, ensuring correct access rights in a domain environment
● Supporting the installation of software/hardware as requested and maintaining a record of all installations carried out
● Support with the creation of network shares and printers ensuring users have the correct access
● Support with ongoing maintenance and upgrade of both hardware and operating systems
System and Information Security:
● Supporting with the implementation of system and data backup procedures ensuring that in the event of data loss the backups are fully functional
● Support with management of Google Workspace across the Schools
● Ensuring that the security entry system is maintained, staff and visitors have relevant access and ID badges are issued
● Producing reports as requested in relation to timekeeping
● Supporting the maintenance of all email and distribution lists within the Trust
● Support with Antivirus protection, ensuring the domain is regularly checked for viruses or malware
About the Role:
As part of this role, you will be required to travel to visit the service users at all of the schools covered by the business.
The ability to converse at ease with members of the public in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
All schools are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Therefore, all workers and employees within the company are expected to share this commitment.
The successful candidate will be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure via the Disclosure Barring Service (DBS).
Key Experience:
● Providing IT support to the education sector remotely and onsite.
● AD – Managing users, assigning GPs
● Migrating from Windows OS 7 – 10
● AV support (projectors and smartboards)
● Support of Google Workspace
● WDS for deployments of images
● Support of O365
