About this job
The role will include the provision of administrative support to staff, lay member committees, and more generally for the team.
Candidates must have a good knowledge of committee administration, general office practice and procedures, finance and data systems and procedures. Duties include inputting and extracting data from membership and other data systems, processing financial data and invoices, agenda preparation and committee administration, drafting and producing communications.
You must also have good telephone and communication skills and be able to deal with internal and external queries, including member complaints, and a range of other issues in a sensitive and positive manner. You will also need to be able to work in a team environment.
It goes without saying that you will need excellent administrative, secretarial, communication and ICT skills to succeed, in addition to having the confidence to work on your own initiative, and as part of a team.
As the regional lead for Sharepoint and IT you will need to be competent at dealing with both IT software and hardware issues in liaison with our IT specialists.
An understanding of trade unions and their objectives as well as the importance of lay activist education would be an advantage.
