JOB TITLE: IT LEAD – NETWORKING


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for uptime and performance of global network, telecom and voice solutions.
  • Maintain & evolve best-practice methodologies based on KPIs for incident/change/problem management in a global, 24x7, high-volume, high-availability, production environment.
  • Manage and set priorities for the design, maintenance, development, and evaluation of all Network infrastructure systems globally including LANs, WANs, Internet, intranet, security, wireless implementations, backup strategies and so on.
  • Develop and drive the development of innovative network operations processes and tools from concept to delivery.
  • Provide leadership to handle demands from projects and technology upgrades including recommendations for vendor tools/solutions and global alignment of networks.
  • Lead network operations projects, including budgeting, planning, implementation, maintenance, administration, staffing and logistics.
  • Test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports; develop strategies for maintaining network infrastructure.
  • Mentor, lead and motivate a team of professionals and set priorities to achieve department goals and KPIs.
  • Oversight of network operations processes based on a combination of vendors, custom solutions, and internal resources.
  • Lead rollout of new technologies such as SD WAN and NAC and recommend capability improvements to network and security operations.
  • Ensure that information security and risk management are embedded within the culture requiring continuous improvement to a complex set of functions to handle security and compliance risks related to information systems and assets.
  • Responsible for capacity planning and security improvement tasks and review of high level/low-level designs along with migration plans related to the network infrastructure.
  • To produce and maintain IT Network Infrastructure technical documentation, processes and procedures and Knowledge Management articles and act as a technical escalation point for network related queries.
  • Maintaining and monitoring processes post-launch for optimal response time in the event.
  • Developing a backup/disaster recovery plan for network emergencies.
  • Planning network infrastructure for new applications and services.
  • Responsible for managing IT Network spend.
  • Works with the CTO to develop operational and capital budgets.
  • Recommend and implement solutions to driving cost out.
  • Managing and implementing Operational practices and Strategies to ensure 99.5% plus availability and High Resilience of Network in 25 plus Global sites.
  • Managing Critical Network Devices in In House Data Centres.
  • Design appropriate Networks based on project site requirements
  • Collaborate with finance and procurement teams to establish and manage budgets for networking equipment and services, ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising quality or security.
  • Provide accurate and timely financial reports and analysis to senior management, highlighting key performance indicators and financial metrics related to networking.
  • Evaluate the financial impact of new networking technologies, tools, and services, considering factors such as return on investment (ROI) and total cost of ownership (TCO).
  • Collaborate with vendors and negotiate contracts to ensure favorable pricing and terms for networking services and hardware, while keeping budgetary constraints in mind.
  • Apply problem-solving skills and critical thinking to address technical challenges, operational issues, and financial constraints, proactively identifying solutions and implementing effective strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical and operational problems, leveraging both technical expertise and a strategic mindset.
  • Analyze data and metrics related to hosting and cloud services, identify patterns or anomalies, and develop proactive measures to prevent or mitigate potential issues.
  • Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging technologies in hosting and cloud services, applying innovative solutions to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science.
  • Relevant years of experience working within professional, enterprise level IT Organization.
  • Relevant years of network system administrator experience.
  • Relevant IT Network related technical certifications.
  • CCNA or CCNP is highly desirable.
  • ITIL V2/V3 Foundation Certificate essential, ITIL Intermediate Certification.
  • Previous positions held as a senior or team lead.
  • Experience in offshore and asset networking equipment and solutions
  • Experience in core technologies and software (Cisco, Microsoft, Oracle. Etc).
  • Demonstrate experience with a wide variety of productivity and business software and have a proven track record of creative solution delivery and delivery on business needs.
  • Good Track record of managing business and technical projects of strategic significance via third party suppliers.
  • Proven experience in design, deployment & configuration of networks.
  • Creation of Low & High-level design documentation for new systems and services, including both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • In-depth experience in the day-to-day management of a Network infrastructure including management of Managed Service Providers/Partners and suppliers.
  • Experience of managing and supporting Cisco Catalyst, Nexus and Meraki networks Switches, Cisco Routers, Meraki Wireless, Cisco ASA and Firepower Firewalls, Cisco DNA, VPNs, IPAM and network management and monitoring tools.
  • Experience of managing and maintaining Internet and security products such as, Cisco ASA and Firepower Firewalls, VPNs, and cloud hosted Internet security products such as Zscaler.
  • Good knowledge and proven expertise of network technologies, concepts, tools and practices, and industry standards such as the OSI layer, dynamic routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), loop prevention protocols, SDN, VPNs, Policy based networking, SolarWinds, SDWAN/WAN/MPLS and VLANs.
  • Experience of managing large-scale, complex networks globally and planning network. migrations/refreshes including writing/review of high-level/low-level designs along with migration plans.
  • SDWAN technology.
  • Deep Technical Expertise in Network Technologies
  • Hands-on experience in troubleshooting hardware.
  • Knowledge of current protocols and standards, including TCP/IP.
  • Application support experience with Windows and Linux.
  • Ability to make sound and logical judgments.
  • Demonstrated leadership and personnel/project management skills
