You will be responsible for providing 1st line technical support, managing user accounts, configuring software and so much more to enhance your skills and kick-start your IT career!

In this role, you’ll work towards your Level 3 Information Communication Technician, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

A Typical Day in the Job:

Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the Baltic team.

  • Technical Support: Provide first-line technical support to end-users, both remotely and in person via email, telephone and helpdesk ensuring all calls are logged and resolutions recorded via the Atera helpdesk.
  • User Account Management: Assist in managing user accounts, including creating new accounts.
  • Software Configuration and Testing: Collaborate with the IT manager to test and implement innovative software to improve the efficiency of company employees and internal processes.
  • Hardware and Network Maintenance: Support the IT Manager in maintaining hardware and network infrastructure, including Azure cloud infrastructure.
  • Data and Backup Management: Assist in maintaining and managing data integrity within company systems, ensuring Acronis backups complete and escalating issues to the IT Manager.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of IT procedures, system configurations, and troubleshooting steps. Including regular updates to a new FAQ system.
  • Continuous Learning and Development: Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies. Have input into improving services offered to the business by the IT department.

Salary, Hours & Benefits:

  • Salary – £16,000 – £20,150
  • Monday – Friday 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM
  • Hybrid Working – 3 office / 2 WFH
  • 22 Days Annual Leave + Bank Holidays
  • Christmas shutdown in December
  • Birthday off work
  • 1 Hour Lunch

Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge:

  • Experience in IT such as working in IT retail etc – Essential.
  • Communication Skills – Written & Verbal.
  • Customer care and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong interest in information technology, with a desire to pursue a career in the IT industry.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues effectively.
  • Grade 4/C in Math’s & English GCSE or Functional Skills Level 2
