Job description
- Assisting Huntsman IP attorneys with the preparation, prosecution, and filing of patent applications globally
- Docketing all incoming and outgoing correspondence and maintaining electronic files
- Preparing and filing relevant patent documents with the European Patent Office and WIPO offices
- Communicating with internal business associates and outside counsel regarding patent matters
- Preparing various reports for IP attorneys and internal business managers
- Must possess at least 4 years of patent paralegal experience with a law firm or corporation
- Experience with IP docketing software (preferably, IP Manager or IP Folio)
- Working knowledge of filing procedures and documents used in domestic and foreign patent prosecution
- Working knowledge of filing procedures and documents associated with trademark registrations is a plus but not required
- Ability to perform detail-oriented work and to work independently with minimal supervision
- Self-motivated and ability to proactively assume responsibility over assignments
- Ability to handle multiple assignments while working well under pressure
- Excellent written, oral communication, and organizational skills
- Must be proficient in Microsoft programs and navigating patent websites such as EPO and WIPO.
- Ability to professionally interact with all levels of management, internal business teams, and outside counsel
- Fluency in English
- Paralegal Certification not required, but preferred
