About the role
Dyson are currently looking for a IP & Online Brand Protection Specialist to join the IP Enforcement, Brands and Licensing team, within global the IP & Product Strategy function of Dyson Legal. You would report into the Senior IP Counsel and be based on our Malmesbury Campus.
Day-to-day responsibility for the following areas of IP&PS activity:
Brand Protection and Anti-Counterfeiting
Supporting IP Enforcement and Litigation
Working with external partners to enforce Dyson’s IP online, to support effective brand protection and provide strategic value to Dyson by supporting the sale of genuine Dyson products.
Online brand protection activities including the following, in relation to key online e-commerce platforms such as Amazon.com:
Identifying listings on the platforms for IP infringing products and other listings which infringe Dyson’s IP rights
Making infringement reports to platform operators and managing compliance
Building and managing relationships with IP enforcement functions of online platform operators
Being a subject matter expert in IP enforcement on the online platforms
Anti-counterfeiting activities including:
Conducting analysis of third party products to assess IP infringement
Liaising with internal stakeholders, e.g. e-commerce managers, to understand and align enforcement with Dyson’s strategic priorities.
Providing or contributing to regular reports to internal stakeholders in relation to online brand protection and anti-counterfeiting.
Operational reporting to Senior IP Counsel.
About you
LLB in Law (min 2.1), preferably including study of intellectual property. Experience working in a legal, eCommerce or brand protection role - for example, as a paralegal or analyst
Experience and/or interest in intellectual property law
Ability to build relationships quickly and effectively
Awareness of a brand protection team's role within a large, global business, and the ability to make meaningful contributions to supporting the business in making informed decisions
Detail oriented, and able to pick out minor details as well as overall trends within large pools of information
Strong communicator and effective collaborator
Interest in product design.
