We are looking for an Investments Service Analyst (Middle/Backoffice) to join our team.
Where in Wellcome will I be working?
You will be part of the Investments Services Team within the Investments Team reporting to the Head of Investment Services.
The Investment Services team provides Middle and Back-Office function support covering both Public and Private portfolios, for both Direct and Indirect investments. We engage the services of JPMorgan, who act as our Global Custodian, and Bloomberg AIM, for our Public Equity order management system, in the public markets domain. The private portfolio, consisting of Private Equity investments, Hedge Funds and Direct Co-Investments is primarily managed in-house, using a number of third-party services providers to manage cash flows and NAVs.
What will I be doing?
You will be part of the team that monitors the activities of our custodian, working closely with all internal stakeholders, Fund Accounting, Performance, Securities Lending, Proxy Voting, Foreign Exchange, Exchange Traded Derivatives, Compliance and Cash Management (via Ninety – One); Private investments, including Private Equities, Direct Private Co-Investments and Property are managed in-house using additional platforms such as Dynamo and Burgiss PI. Daily cash flows and quarterly valuations are primary functions that are managed within the 4-person team.
As an Investments Service Analyst, you will:
Public Equity - Process internally managed trade instructions, interact with global custodian and 3rd party brokers and vendors, processing derivatives transactions and processing within the public markets Order Management System, processing of Manager subscriptions and redemptions, Management of cash flows and funding of investment activities, foreign exchange processing, corporate actions, securities lending and proxy voting.Manage of cash transfers, payments and collateral requirements, investigation of overdrafts and cash breaks and highlighting urgent cash forecasts, reconciliations.
Hedge Funds - Process and manage subscriptions and redemptions, monthly valuations, TA liaising, document management
Cash – Manage and process daily cash flows liaising with manager
Private Portfolio - Create cash flows (calls and distributions), valuation reports to custodian, monthly reconciliations, maintenance of Dynamo database (private equity system), quarterly valuations, legal agreement management and control.
Regulatory/Compliance - Tax (annual US filings) and Compliance (daily monitoring), EMIR reporting, Proxy Voting, preparation of US tax requirements, Regulatory Reporting and Filing, Class Actions.
Reporting – Production of daily Cash Flow report, Daily Valuation Report, Monthly and quarterly valuation reports and ad-hoc reporting; Ad-hoc – maintaining processes and procedures, ad-hoc investigations.

You must possess a keen interest in financial markets and practices and be eager to learn and help the team develop and grow and to continue to provide an optimal service to the Investment Portfolio Managers
We are looking for someone who:
Has three A levels at grade C or above, with preferably a degree in Economics/Business/Finance related subject or relevant entry level experience in financial operations.
Has strong accuracy and attention to detail is fundamental
Can effectively communicate with the team and with external stakeholders
Has excellent time management skills, and able to quickly prioritise and work under pressure and to tight deadlines, as part of a team or independently.
Must have initiative and be able to self-motivate at times when other members of the team are busy.
Contributes to a diverse and inclusive culture across the organisation, collaborating across departments.
