We are currently seeking a part or newly qualified accountancy professional to join HSBC Alternatives as Investment Operations Assistant Manager. HSBC Alternatives is the alternative investment arm of HSBC Asset Management, investing globally in a wide spectrum of alternatives asset classes which include private market funds, hedge funds, real estate, infrastructure, private debts and venture capital, and has AUM of $58 billion. The Alternative Investments Operations Team is responsible for the global investment operations function comprises transaction and fund services, portfolio operations, product controllership for all alternative investments products of HSBC Alternatives. The Team operates from centres of excellence in London, Bangalore and Singapore.
The Investment Operations Assistant Manager will support the Operations Manager. You will manage the operations of private assets products with a particular focus on private debts and venture capital.
In this role, you will:
- Assist in the management of fund operations and investment operations of alternative products, in particular, private debt funds/products
- Review valuation and NAV calculation in the quarterly reporting
- Instrumental in cash flows management, calls and distributions at both funds/mandates and investment level
- Review and control of portfolio data in the system
- Co-ordinate and participate in ad-hoc business transformation and system improvement projects
- Assist Operations Manager in managing tax due diligence
- Provide transaction services to investment team including monitoring investment restriction and guidelines, compliance requirements, deal execution and investment on-boarding and off-boarding
- Assist Legal and Compliance teams with regulatory requirements
- Prepare financial analysis and forecasting of funds/mandates
- Assist in suppliers on-boarding and service migration
- Manage fee invoicing and business P&L
To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:
- Degree qualification, preferably in accounting and finance, or a part-qualified/newly qualified member of ACA/ACCA/CAIA/CTA would be highly desirable
- Must show ability to communicate clearly on various technical issues and to maintain a high level of professionalism when dealing with clients, investors and colleagues.
- Must possess effective multi-tasking, project management, organisational and interpersonal skills with proven ability to work to deadlines in an efficient and accurate manner.
- Commercially focused
This is a Hybrid working role with the base location as London. The successful candidate will have to have the ability to commute to this location.
