The Role - Credit Control Manager
The role of the Credit Control Manager is to ensure that customer payments are collected in a timely and efficient manner, that credit risk is managed effectively, and being a key contact for review of the customer debt position and account performance.
You will be collaborating with clients and internal departments to ensure that any client invoice disputes and queries are resolved in a timely manner to promote the Client Account Administration experience and ensure it is of the highest level.
This role is Monday-Friday 8.30am-5pm and offers a remote working pattern with 2 days required to be in the office.
Duties/Key Responsibilities
- Weekly, monthly, and annual reporting on client debt position including provisions for doubtful debts.
- Developing and transforming credit control processes to support Pinnacle’s diverse client base, ensuring a high degree of automation and efficiency.
- Ensure that cash received each day is posted to client debtor accounts and allocated against outstanding invoices in a timely fashion.
- Achieve collection targets by ensuring that clients are managed proactively alongside operations to ensure prompt payment.
- Working alongside the Operations teams in supporting client due diligence by assessing and monitoring ongoing credit limits. Inform Senior Management of any significant credit risks.
- Ensure customers statements / payment request and reminders notices are sent as appropriate.
- Excellent collaboration and communication with Pinnacle’s operating divisions.
- Ensure that client account notes are updated on internal systems for all credit control activity such as status of payment remittance advices and promises to ensure visibility of the current credit control position, next step action points and timescales.
- Ad hoc administrative tasks that assist the department and the business needs.
- Communicate/summarise all invoice queries to relevant Operations Manager and ensure the queries(s) are resolved in a timely fashion, and that any follow up actions are adhered to.
- Liaise and agree with Senior Management actions to be taken on late payers.
- Utilise the third-party Credit Rating system to monitor consistent late payers credit risk and escalate to Management when necessary.
- Ensure efficient client invoicing and credit note management to include appropriate follow up to ensure clients agree with our sales invoices and reports to enable prompt payment.
- Create and / or manipulate Excel reports when required for Senior Management usage for review.
- Develop relationships in clients’ finance teams to help facilitate prompt invoice payment.
Skills
- Experience in leading and managing a Credit Control Department.
- Excellent communication skills with a proven track record of managing their own ledger.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office including Excel, MS Outlook (PowerBI would be an additional benefit but not essential)
- Highly organised and self-motivated individual to be able work to deadlines and achieve set cash collection targets.
