About us
We work very closely with local charities and the community, sponsoring the towns junior football team, visiting local schools to talk about working in a vet practice and we often host fund raising events from dog shows and fetes at the local animal sanctuary to coffee mornings in practice. Our staffs Wellbeing is of great importance to us, we have a very approachable, supportive management team who are always available to offer support to our staff at work or in their personal life. We endeavour to ensure that the practices have some down time, whether it be closing the doors for a couple of hours for coffee and cake, a meal out or bowling. We have 9 branches within our group so communication is key to ensuring good team work. We have a Whatsapp group chat which is very helpful to gain advice on clinical cases quickly. We issue a weekly newsletter to all our staff which provides any updates or important information regarding the practices and also hold regular practice and group meetings.Rosewood vets is a purpose-built practice and provides a spacious, light and airy perfect working environment. We have large bright consultation rooms, theatre, prep room, x-ray room and separate cattery and kennels, digital x-ray, ultrasound, endoscope and in-house lab, ISFM cat friendly clinic. Our surgery certificate holders routinely perform orthopaedic procedures such as TTA and TPLO. We have a vet with a special interest in Ophthalmology and a visiting cardiologist working up cases using Echocardiography/ECG. With an experienced, skilled team of Veterinary Surgeons and nurses holding various certificates, we have a busy, varied caseload enabling you to get involved with a wide variety of procedures.
About the role
Your normal hours of work are 40 hours per week, 4 days a week. [Monday] to [Friday] between [9.00am] and [6.45pm]. You will also be required to participate in a shared weekend rota which will include working on weekends and bank holidays, (maximum equivalent of 7 full days per 3-month period) Due to the particular needs of the business you may be required to work additional hours. Overtime may be paid at your normal equivalent hourly rate , or time off in lieu provided.
Our graduates are teamed up with a senior vet who will mentor and guide them throughout the early years of their career. We have several vets at different stages of the graduate scheme who will be happy to share their experiences and the group has many long-term staff with a vast range of knowledge and accomplishments that the graduate can draw upon. You will have clinical freedom to fully work up and manage your cases with friendly support available at all times. We actively encourage certificates, offering funding and support to our team members who would like the opportunity for developing and growing skills in any area that is of special interest to you.
