As a Fashion Design Intern at AwaBittaye, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the world of fashion design. You will work closely with the owner to the development of our upcoming collections. This internship is designed to provide you with valuable insights into the fashion industry and help you build a strong foundation for your career.
Skills requirement
- Machinist 1 year (Required)
- Proven track record of designing successful collections.
- Strong technical skills, including pattern making, sewing, and familiarity with garment construction.
- Experience in sourcing and selecting fabrics and materials.
- Previous experience managing design teams or projects is a plus.
- A well-rounded portfolio demonstrating creativity and technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in Design Conceptualization: Collaborate with the owner/designer to brainstorm and sketch new fashion concepts, taking inspiration from current trends, market research, and the brand's identity.
Fabric and Material Research: Help research and source fabrics and materials suitable for upcoming collections, considering factors like cost, availability, and sustainability.
Pattern Making and Prototyping: Assist in creating patterns and prototypes for new designs, ensuring they meet quality and fit standards.
Sample Development: Work with us to oversee the development of samples, making necessary adjustments and improvements.
Trend Analysis: Stay updated on current fashion trends and conduct trend research to inform design decisions.Technical Drawing and CAD: Create technical drawings and use computer-aided design (CAD) software to illustrate design ideas and specifications.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of design specifications, fabric swatches, and sample details.
Assist in Fittings: Participate in garment fittings and provide feedback on fit, comfort, and style.
