JOB OVERVIEW
We are seeking an experienced IT Administrator to join our dynamic IT team at Planet Organic. As IT Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the IT systems and infrastructure across all aspects of the business. The position is responsible for supporting and maintaining the Microsoft Server, Desktop operating systems and Microsoft Exchange online environment as well as general maintenance of all IT-related hardware/software. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a passion for providing outstanding IT support to end-users.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
IT Systems Maintenance and Support:
- Oversee the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the company's IT systems, including hardware, software, and networking components.
- Respond promptly to IT support requests from store staff, diagnosing and resolving technical issues in a timely manner.
- Provide user training and support for hardware and software systems to ensure efficient usage and minimise downtime.
Network and Security Management:
- Monitor and maintain network infrastructure, ensuring network connectivity, security, and data integrity.
- Implement and manage appropriate security measures, including firewalls, antivirus software, and data encryption, to protect company data and systems.
- Conduct regular backups and implement disaster recovery plans to minimise data loss and ensure business continuity.
System Upgrades and Enhancements:
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify areas for improvement and recommend system upgrades or enhancements.
- Plan and execute system upgrades, installations, and migrations with minimal disruption to business operations.
- Stay updated with the latest technological advancements and trends in the retail industry to propose innovative solutions that drive operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Supplier Management:
- Manage relationships with external suppliers and service providers, ensuring effective delivery of IT services and support.
- Coordinate with suppliers for procurement, maintenance, and repairs of IT equipment, software licenses, and peripherals.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate documentation of IT systems, configurations, and procedures.
- Generate reports on system performance, service levels, and incidents for management review.
- Maintain an inventory of IT assets, including hardware and software licenses.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.- Proven experience as an IT Administrator or similar role, preferably in a multi-store retail environment.
- Strong knowledge of CITRX and terminal servers.
- Proficient in Microsoft Windows and Office Suite, as well as point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- All-round understating of network security (Wired and Wireless).
- Ability to write SQL scripts and extraction of data for analysis (basic to intermediate level).
- Experienced in creating reports in EXCEL and Power BI (intermediate level).
- Experience working with EPOS and ERP is preferred but not essential.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and end-users.
- Excellent organisational skills including high attention to detail and multi-tasking.
- Ability to learn quickly, conscientious and motivated whilst working.
- Willing to work weekends (once every 3-4 weeks).
