Role: International Recruitment Operations Assistant
Grade and Salary: Grade 4, Salary: £22,197 - £24,114
FTE and working pattern: 1.0 FTE, 35 hours per week (Mon-Fri 9am-5pm)
Holiday Entitlement: 28 days annual leave plus 9 buildings closed days (and Christmas Eve when it falls on a weekday)

The International Recruitment team:
The International Recruitment team develops and implements the University's international student recruitment strategy. Focusing on ambitious targets for growth in student numbers, the team promotes Heriot-Watt University to prospective students, agents, academic partners, and other key stakeholders.
Working in a competitive environment, we deliver a highly targeted range of recruitment activities. This focuses on generating high quality leads and working in partnership with the Marketing team, Academic Schools, and Prospect Experience & Conversion team to maximise recruitment to the University.
Data and evidence constantly inform our targeting and resource allocation decisions to ensure that we always provide an efficient and effective service to prospects and partners.
Post of International Recruitment Operations Assistant:
This key role is responsible for supporting the operational delivery of services related to supporting international student recruitment activities. You will successfully deliver International Recruitment support for Scottish campuses and selected regional teams and global services across the broader Institution, and act as an ambassador for Heriot-Watt University. This role will allow you to develop your career in a dynamic and truly global higher education environment.

- You will have an empathy and/or experience of the challenges faced by teams working under-pressure to meet targets and deadlines.
- You will be a natural communicator with the ability to engage positively with a wide range of stakeholders, notably international students and their advisers.
- You will have a proactive approach to the workplace actively participating in team activities.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- You will provide support for the study abroad/semester abroad programmes, including acting as the point of contact for partners, enquiries, identifying study routes and providing support for campus visits.
- You will provide general support for Regional Team (primarily International UK and Europe) activities, including co-ordinating their agency visits, fair attendance, and campus-based activities.
- You will support International Team and Agency visits and conferences (in person and online)
- You will co-ordinate international applicant visits, including providing campus tours, and arranging for visiting applicants to meet with relevant key contacts.
- You will manage email mailboxes, working with teams across the University to ensure consistency of messaging.
- You will provide support for agency invoice processing.
- You will provide administrative support for the Director, International Recruitment
- You will provide support for any other International Recruitment Team activities.
Essential Criteria:
- Educated to first degree level or equivalent.
- Cultural awareness and ability to operate in a global environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organisational skills and a proactive approach.
- Good track record of developing and maintaining positive working relationships with internal and external customers, peers, stakeholders, and others.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience of working in the International Student Recruitment sector
- Demonstratable experience of team working
