We have an exciting opportunity for 2 band 6 International Nurse Clinical Educators to support the International Nurse Recruitment Programme across MFT. This is a unique opportunity for 2 motivated nurses who have recent clinical experience and a passion for education and innovation.
The role will focus on providing clinical support and expertise to the overseas nurse as they embed themselves within the organisation. This role will work clinically alongside newly recruited overseas nurse to help them familiarise themselves with the Trusts clinical practice, policies, procedures and professionally develop the overseas nurse within their clinical areas of practice. The role will also support the delivery of the training programme for our overseas nurses through the NMC Test of Competence Part 2 to obtain NMC Registration.
- Support the planning, delivery, and evaluation of the OSCE Training programme
- Support and assist with the local arrangements for all aspects of the OSCE and act as an examiner at mock exams.
- Explore, organise, implement, and evaluate the provision of learning opportunities for candidates requiring additional support in learning clinical skills
- Contribute to the development of an effective learning environment which challenges and questions practice and promotes critical thinking amongst practitioners
- Undertake evaluation of all aspects of skills teaching and offer constructive views on how the teaching programme should develop in the future
- Develop links with education teams in associated teaching hospitals and other sectors/Trusts to promote free exchange of information and good practice relating to the clinical skills teaching programme and monitor quality
- Ensure accurate and comprehensive records are maintained and monitored
- Draw upon a wide range of skills to adapt the delivery of information using active listening, persuasive, reassuring skills as required e.g., breaking bad news/special needs/dealing with anxious candidates
- Provide pastoral support, to enable effective integration of the candidates into the local community
- Facilitate support forum sessions across sites and encourage nurses to verbalize concerns and seek advice
- Liaise with the clinical area managers to support the nurses in practise
