Job description
HR Operations
The University of Nottingham is seeking to appoint an International Administrative in our HR Staff Immigration team to lead with the administration and processing advice for international employees requiring a visa.
Full training will be provided but an awareness of UK immigration law such as right to work requirements is needed.
This is a fantastic opportunity for you to broaden your knowledge on the UK visa’s and immigration system and make your mark as an excellent support for candidates, colleagues and recruiting managers.
Working alongside our Recruitment Team, you will be responsible for the processing of Skilled Worker and Tier 5 visa’s, as well as advising on appropriate sponsored visa routes where appropriate, with support from the HR Resourcing Services Manager.
Day to day you’ll be involved in the complete administration of all visa applications, including issuing Certificates of Sponsorship to candidates using the Sponsor Management System, monitoring verification of right to work documentation and ensuring candidates have all the employment information and documentation they need to successfully apply for their visa.
You’ll liaise with candidates, colleagues and recruiting managers daily to ensure the full administration support for staff visa applications, therefore it’s essential you have excellent communication skills and have the ability to build working relationships with a range of key people.
As you’ll be the main administration support for immigration queries, accuracy and adaptability to learn new skills and procedures is important, with an outlook to continually challenge and improve our customer service for both internal and external customers. You’ll need to work both independently and as part of the wider team to resolve queries and maintain a high level of customer service whilst working to deadlines.
This role is available on a permanent contract. Hours of work are full time (36.25 hours).
In return we are committed to providing a generous employment package whilst supporting your well-being to help you reach for full potential. You’ll have an excellent choice of employee benefits and rewards, including fitness and health facilities, staff discounts and travel schemes, along with 25 days holiday allowance PLUS university closure days each year, and a highly attractive pension scheme.
Our University is a supportive, inclusive, caring and positive community. We warmly welcome those of different cultures, ethnicities and beliefs – indeed this very diversity is vital to our success, it is fundamental to our values and enriches life on campus. We welcome applications from UK, Europe and from across the globe. For more information on the support we offer our international colleagues, see our Moving to Nottingham pages.
This position does not fulfil the UK Visas & Immigration sponsorship criteria for Skilled Worker, therefore we can only accept applications from candidates who already have the right to work in UK.
Informal enquiries may be addressed to Emma Haydon, email [email protected]. Please note that applications sent directly to this email address will not be accepted.
