Production supervisor/ Manager

We are a growing manufacturing business that produces and distributes high quality doors & Windows for the commercial market. The steady growth achieved is forecast to be maintained into the future. We have invested in new machinery and acquired additional space and now are looking to improve efficiency and enhance our workforce.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced manufacturing professional to join an industry leading company that is on its Lean journey. Along with changing customer expectations and supply challenges, the business is expecting exciting changes over the coming twelve months and this role will be pivotal to the successful implementation of those changes.
Working closely with the management team, you will be given the opportunity to take on the day to day management of an established yet evolving manufacturing operation and utilise your experience of implementing Lean practices skills to make a real difference to the growth and prosperity of a business with strong expansion plans.

Your Role:
As the Production Manager, you will have responsibility for the day to day management of Operational and Shop Floor activities.
Responsible for planning and stock rotation / ordering and job specific specials including in house manufactured stock
Leading and developing a team of manufacturers
Execute and develop the site’s continuous improvement strategy, PDP plans & Training
Work to a range of KPI’s
Ensure the manufacturing area is safe, compliant, and efficient, Health & Safety
Act on and resolve any issues that arise
Other duties deemed relevant to role
Utilising manufacturing and quality best practice, the Production Manager will deliver continuous improvements to fulfil customer orders "right first time, on time, every time", whilst implementing change and carrying the workforce with you.
About You:
To be considered as a Production Manager, you will need:
- A minimum of two years’ experience within the manufacturing industry in a management role
- Experience of dealing with workforce, customers and suppliers
- Experience in all aspects of developing and maintaining shop floor improvements utilising Lean Principles, the Quality Toolset and Manufacturing Best Practice ISO9001 implementation
- The ability to manage and develop a team of 12-15 team members
- To be well versed in production and project planning within an SME environment
Experience of welding, Punch, Guillotine , Press brake and assembly would be beneficial to your application, as would a degree in engineering or manufacturing (or equivalent).
Responsible for planning and delivering quality, maintaining KPI s, Health & safety, PDP plans , Training.

Salary for this opportunity is between £30k-£35k plus company benefits
