The British Library is a national treasure. Home to 3,000 years of history, its collections (containing everything from manuscripts to music scores and prints to patents) are an infinitely valuable resource used by 16,000 people a day. We are looking for experienced Security Officers to join our Security Team working on a 24/7 rota. As part of a uniformed Security Team, you will play a vital security role in protecting our site whilst keeping both employees and visitors safe. You will be working across a variety of areas from the Control Room monitoring CCTV and alarms, internal patrols, providing support to our contractors and working at Staff Entrance signing in contractors and visitor as well as detailing with enquiries. This is a physically demanding role with long periods spent standing and time spent walking, you will need a good understanding of security and IT systems.
Role Requirements
Must hold a valid SIA CCTV and Door Supervisors Licence
Must be able to work on a shift pattern including night working
Excellent communication skills
Competent in demonstrating report writing
Previous experience in security
Reliable and punctual
