Role Overview

As an Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) at Cambridge Spark, you will support the timely submission of learners to End Point Assessment. You will work with others to continuously deliver to our gold standard of teaching, learning and assessment through quality improvement activity and the development and improvement of outstanding resources, delivery methods, End Point Assessment processes and our ways of working.

This role will work closely with the Service Delivery team, particularly Data Mentors, ensuring that the internal quality standards and external qualification standards are met. You will be required to develop and deliver internal training and CPD relating to all data mentors technical components of the learner journey. You will ensure that Cambridge Spark’s gold standard framework is as a minimum meeting the external requirements and accreditations such as Ofsted, Matrix, ESFA, and DfE, with the intention of exceeding these expectations by bringing innovative and entrepreneurial ideas to the table.

Key responsibilities:

  • Providing gold standard feedback and coaching to support and drive staff to achieve and deliver excellent on-programme learning & assessment, and preparation for end-point assessment
  • Carrying out desktop formative and summative quality review activity of learner portfolios, providing feedback reports ensuring all criteria is met before learners enter gateway
  • Monitoring compliance towards the qualification standards and driving continuous improvement
  • Effective planning and monitoring to ensure timely completion of end-point assessments
  • Identifying, monitoring and addressing trends seen through IQA activity, documenting and reporting on progress towards improvement actions
  • Recommend and implement change resulting in improved provision ie: providing training and coaching to enable others to achieve gold standard delivery through activities such as:
    • Development of delivery guides and support documentation enhancing the delivery programme and the end point assessment
    • Delivering standardisation and moderation meetings to Data Mentors and Trainers
    • Supporting and contributing to improvements with reporting mechanisms
    • Maintaining effective external relationships with EPAOs to meet qualification quality assurance requirements
  • Support and advise the Head of Quality and Quality Manager in continuous improvement requirements relating to teaching, learning and assessment. These to include, but not limited to;
    • Advising and supporting on effective approaches to monitor and improve the quality of on programme assessment and end point assessments
    • Deliver occasional teaching and/or learning sessions, and undertake assessments, as and when required
    • Support the self-assessment and quality improvement planning processes, Ofsted and external audit visits
    • Carry out own personal development as a learning practitioner, keeping up to date through own CPD activity with industry requirements and legislations

Candidate Specification:

  • EPA assessor experience mandatory
  • Relevant technical data analyst experience
  • Minimum of at least 2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Holds TAQA
  • Holds CAVA/V1 certification Level 4 or above
  • Good understanding of quality assurance systems and the End Point Assessment process
  • Teaching and/or learning qualification at Level 3 or above, with relevant education/industry experience
  • Experience of external accreditations and working towards a framework ie: Ofsted EIF, Matrix accreditation
  • Experience in dealing with Awarding Organisations/EPAOs and other curriculum stakeholders
  • Ability to understand, analyse and present data to support business objectives
  • Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed industry standard satisfaction metrics
  • A growth mindset individual, who views challenges as opportunities to improve
  • Ability to influence stakeholders from a range of disciplines and seniority
  • Excellent IT, analysis and reporting skills
  • Good communication and influencing skills
