An exciting opportunity for a new team member to support the delivery of individual audits, providing assurance to the Audit Committee that risks are managed within appetite. This role will support the business in delivering shareholder value, in a culture where customers are treated fairly, and the company operates with integrity.
The Senior Internal Auditor will primarily focus on Centrica’s energy supply businesses, with the opportunity to work on other audits across Centrica as required.
Salary: Competitive + bonus + car allowance + private health care

Accountabilities:
As part of an audit delivery team, support the identification of risk areas and understanding of control effectiveness in Centrica’s energy supply businesses.
Operational delivery of audit activities working within a team and with wider members of Centrica or other subject matter experts.
Identify gaps in controls and potential implications for discussion within the Internal Audit team and wider stakeholders
Lead specific audit assignments and deliver to schedule and to the required quality standards
Action tracking and closure.
Application of experience, initiative and judgment to situations encountered in audits, in areas such as customer journey, complaints, billing, pricing, metering, regulatory compliance.
Appropriate use of escalation to produce high quality deliverables.
Competencies:
Analytical with attention to detail but able to propose practical actions
Able to understand risks relating to Centrica energy supply activities, identify expected controls and design testing activities in line with the department methodology
Robust and independent mindset with the confidence to raise issues appropriately with senior management
Confident in manipulating data to drive audit insight and efficiency using various tools including Microsoft Excel and PowerBI.
Able to work effectively as part of a team to deliver to tight deadlines
Potential to lead small teams and manage smaller groups of people
Ability to interrogate and present data as part of audit fieldwork
Ambitious and motivated to broaden knowledge of auditing, risk management and controls within a trading environment
Experience
While a formal audit/ accounting qualification would be preferred, we would consider candidates with relevant experience from an energy supply business (or similar).
Experience of risk, controls, compliance and/or internal audit.
