About UK Infrastructure Bank
We are the new, government-owned policy bank - launched in June 2021 - providing £22bn of infrastructure finance and partnering with the private sector and local government to finance a green industrial revolution and drive growth across the country.
Job Purpose
During your time at UKIB you will rotate across various functions of the bank, working closely with team members on a variety of ongoing projects and transactions. This is a very exciting opportunity to work within a start-up organisation that has 2 very clear strategic objectives to support climate change and stimulate regional and local economic growth.
Core responsibilities
Successful candidates will:
- Rotate around 6 different teams within UKIB including the Banking, Portfolio Management, Policy, Impact, Finance and Treasury teams.
- Assist with live deals and other important projects the functions are undertaking at your time of involvement.
- Support on external discussions with advisors through taking minutes and helping to prepare documentation, spreadsheets, and PowerPoint presentations.
- Support the respective teams with external engagement with HMT, potential investors, fund managers and other Government departments.
- Support the team in identifying and screening potential projects.
- You will be able to devise and run your own mini project over the course of the placement – the project specifics will to a large degree be shaped by the successful candidates.
Knowledge, Skill and Experience requirements
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Excellent analytical skills
- Strong communication skills, both in writing and in person, including the ability to write concisely and compellingly
- Ability to develop productive working relationships
- Excellent research skills, and the ability to deliver high-quality output at pace
- Studying toward a degree in a discipline relevant to UKIB’s mission
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Knowledge or experience carrying out analysis related to climate change and/or regional and local economic growth
- Knowledge or experience of analysis related to infrastructure projects and investments
