Job description
Due to the reconfiguration and expansion of a growing business, an additional position has been created for an enthusiastic Medical Receptionist. The role requires a self-motivated, disciplined individual to assist with the day to day smooth running of the practice. The chosen candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills, be a superb communicator both written and verbally and be flexible and adaptable in their approach to work within the team. They will have a real focus on service and quality with an eye for detail and accuracy.
The successful candidate will be working with the public face to face and over the telephone to provide a high level of care and customer service to patients by booking appointments, dealing with general enquiries and navigating to appropriate services. Candidates will also provide administrative support to clinical colleagues. The ability to speak Welsh would be advantageous but not essential.
Isca Medical Centre is a well-established, progressive and friendly practice located in Caerleon with a branch surgery in Ponthir and has approximately 9600 patients.
The main practice is situated within the suburban Roman village of Caerleon with nearby access to the M4 and many local amenities. We are a busy, forward thinking Practice who is committed to the continued development of our staff.

The post is for one full time position at 37.5 hours per week or will consider two part time for a job share, working between the hours of 8 am – 6.30 pm. The salary will be £20,397.00 per Annum based on full time hours with 30 days’ annual leave and additional bank holidays per annum and inclusion into the NHS Pension Scheme. Salary above is based on full time hours.
Required Education, Skills and Qualifications
Previous customer service experience is essential and primary care experience would be advantageous, though not essential, as full in-house training will be provided for the successful candidate. Additionally, further external training will be given as and when deemed appropriate and available. Good customer service and computer skills are required and front-facing experience working with the public is essential.
