Fund Accountant - Financial Reporting Team Lead

Summary of the position
To supervise a fund accounting team to ensure that all deliverables are produced and dispatched on time in accordance with client service level agreements and agreed quality standards.
Outline of main duties and responsibilities
The Fund Accountant Team Leader will be expected to:
- Oversee/review the production of reports and accounts for Unit Trusts/OEIC’s and Investment Trusts
- Oversee/review the proofing process, and work in conjuction with Company Secretariat for Inv Trusts
- Attend Board, Audit and Annual General Meetings where required
- Organise the training of all new team members on AAMS and Business Objects.
- Motivate staff and identification of training and development needs
- Develop SORP’s and Accounts production workbooks
- To develop new reports, as required
- Participate in the development, testing and implementation of new systems and products
- Participate in client service reviews and ad hoc client meetings
- Continuous review and development of the processes and associated internal controls operating in and around the fund accounting dept.
- To assist in developing and programming the valuation and cost sheets
- To manage workflows
- To implement changes for new investment types, fund launches and share classes

The successful candidate will:
- Extensive experience and fund accounting knowledge of both open-ended and closed-ended funds gained from within the financial services sector.
- Securities administration and financial reporting experience for fund types including Investment Trusts, OEICs and UT’s.
- Requirement to gain a thorough understanding of all funds.
- The individual will need to be self-motivated, conscientious and able to work to and meet tight deadlines as well as being able to ensure work is completed to a high standard.
- It is essential the candidate is reliable and flexible as far as working hours are required.
- Good communication skills and ability to communicate well at all levels both internally and externally.
- Excellent computer skills, in particular Excel, are an essential requirement

Reporting structure
The Job Title will report to the Line Manager based in Chelmsford.
Remuneration level
Remuneration will be market related and commensurate with experience and seniority. In addition, the successful candidate will receive a competitive benefits package.
