A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Mid-weight Interior Designer to join one of our successful Retail and Hotel Team working on a broad range of exciting projects from luxury retailers to high end hotels.
This role will report to the Creative Lead, and support the 3D Creative team in delivering concept and technical design, 3D visualisation, materiality and creative presentations on a wide and varied selection of projects.
Key responsibilities
- Develop initial concept design in response to a client or internal brief together with the Creative Director and Creative Lead.
- Work together with the the team ensuring the delivery of the project from concept through to completion meets all expectations set out by the client.
- Develop project presentation/pitch and storyboard.
- Produce conceptual sketches to describe and illustrate creative responses.
- Production of schematic and technical detailed drawing package, including an understanding of relevant schedules and specifications.
- Source / research materials or products to support responses.
- Ensure company protocol is fully understood and adhered to, and internal working relation is maintained.
- Attend and assist in client meetings, presentations, briefings and workshops.
Experience and skills required
- Experience with procedures and dealing professionally with project managers and other consultants (Quantity Surveyors / Structural Engineers, etc).
- Must be able to sketch, produce 3D visualisation and have an understanding of detailed drawings.
- Experience of putting together a presentation for internal and external use.
- Experience in production of information packages (eg finishes schedules, specification sheets, FF&E schedules, etc).
- An inquisitive approach and a good feel for design, style, materials, colour, etc.
- Good awareness of architecture / design world and current competitors.
- Packages used in office : VectorWorks, Cinema 4D, InDesign, Photoshop and MS Office.
- Articulate with good communication skills and a creative thinker with the ability to express an opinion or idea persuasively and confidently and be professional in communications with internal and external teams.
- Proactive and a team player and enthusiastic with a can do attitude who enjoys a challenge.
- Open and personable - able to listen, assimilate information, react and engage in open constructive discussion.
- Self-motivated and interested in researching new materials / products.
