Job description
What is the purpose of this role in the delivery of our mission?
What are the key responsibilities / activities of the role:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy for the organisation, which includes defining data standards, policies and procedures for data management, ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations, and promoting a data-driven culture throughout the organisation.
 - Work with product owners and tech leads to ensure products and systems are set up to optimise the delivery of high-quality analytics.
 - Manage the company's data infrastructure, including data storage, security, and accessibility.
 - Promote data-informed decision making throughout the company.
 - Partner with finance, commercial, marketing, operations and other departments, to build a full suite of reports, analytics and dashboards that serve as a single source of truth.
 - Oversee the development and implementation of data governance frameworks to ensure data accuracy, completeness and integrity, and reduce the risk of data breaches or other security incidents.
 - Manage the data lifecycle, from data acquisition to archiving, ensuring that data is available when needed, and deleted when no longer required.
 - Hire and lead a team of data scientists, analysts and engineers, mandate team OKRs and ensure high quality output from all team members.
 - Support internal data literacy programs to educate teams about the use of data to help make better informed decisions.
 
What is the scope of accountability for the role:
- Responsible for overseeing the company's data strategy, ensuring the effective use of data to drive data-driven decision-making
 - Responsible for managing the data architecture, data governance, and data security
 
What are the essential skills, qualifications and experience required for the role?
- 8+ years of experience in a data-related role, with at least 3 years of experience in a leadership or management position.
 - Extensive and relevant work experience leading and growing a high-performing Data & Analytics team in a dynamic environment.
 - Experience in hiring, onboarding and leading a team of data professionals, specifically Data Analysts, Data Engineers, and Data Scientists.
 - A proven track record of leveraging data to drive business growth.
 - Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex data-related challenges
