An exciting opportunity has arisen within North Yorkshire Police for an Intelligence Analyst (ANPR) to join the Intelligence Team. Do you want to help make a difference to the most vulnerable?
We are also creating a holding list for any vacancies which may arise over the next 12 months across the Force including permanent, temporary, full time, part time or specialist positions.
The main responsibilities of the role include:
- Collect, evaluate, collate and analyse large volumes of complex data and information from a variety of sources to support the creation of a collection plan (where applicable) and the delivery of analytical products.
- Develop and test inferences and hypotheses, draw evidence-based conclusions and make recommendations, in support of decision making.
- Produce written and/or verbal briefings and presentations to stakeholders to provide a clear and concise evidence based understanding of the subject matter, including providing advice and guidance.
- Maintain awareness of innovation within intelligence to ensure implementation of latest techniques and tactics, best practice, and information relevant to the role.
Skills and experience required:
- The post holder must have a questioning, logical thinking, analytical problem solving mind with innovative critical thinking skills and excellent planning and organisational skills.
- Good communication skills with the ability to present information and provide recommendations to various stakeholders to ensure understanding and support decision making.
- Ability to develop and test inferences and hypotheses and to draw evidence based conclusions and make recommendations, in support of decision making.
- Ability to research, analyse, and assimilate large volumes of complex data and prepare and produce concise analytical reports.
