Exciting opportunity to join Chesterfield Royal Hospital as Band 5/6 Midwifery Team on a substantive post.
Chesterfield Birth Centre provides co-located midwife and consultant led labour ward facilities, which include 4 birthing pools. Our maternity inpatient ward offers a calm and welcoming environment for women and their families.
Midwives are employed on an integrated basis , rotating between hospital and community based services, including rotation into a Continuity of Care model as required.
A Comprehensive induction programme will be provided and band 5 midwives will receive our competency package to facilitate their progression to band 6.
Job Summary
To contribute to the provision of a professional midwifery service, ensuring the highest possible standards of care are received by women and their families. To act as an excellent clinical role model and practice autonomously within the parameters of guidelines/ policies, and sphere of professional practice.
The post holder will provide high quality woman centred care in any setting, hospital or community, and may be required to work in a continuity of carer model.
The post holder will support the preceptorship and development of junior staff, and undertake the role of Practice Supervisor and / or Assessor for student midwives.
The job description acts as a guideline to the responsibilities of the post holder and will be reviewed in consultation with the post holder and amended to meet changing professional and service needs.
