Summary:
The role of Senior Project Manager is to assist the Head of Infrastructure Projects in delivering strategic projects. This role includes management of priority projects including integrations, disaster recovery tests and technology upgrades. The Project Manager will interact with both internal and external stakeholders required for delivery of projects. They need to have excellent written and spoken communication skills. The ability to produce and update documentation is also key to ensure a clear audit trial is maintained of all updates and changes. The ability to partner with the application development team on implementation also required to ensure these applications are integrated successful.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for creating clear and attainable project objectives, developing clear goals and managing scope, cost, time, quality and stakeholder management
  • Oversees all aspects of project information including business requirement documentation, stakeholder analysis, timelines, budgets, resource allocation, scope and definition of project(s)
  • Assist in determining the optimum logical projects breakdown within a program clearly understanding the project interdependencies
  • Regular reporting, chairing and minute taking of key meetings and communication of progress
  • Compile program/project status reports for all interrelated projects as applicable
  • Maintain a Lessons Learned Knowledgebase
  • Proactively manage risk mitigation strategy and ensure risks are handed over for operational management when the project goes live
  • Agree a communication process at the beginning of all projects
  • Monitoring any change reviews and following up on all approved changes including disseminating new project documents

REQUIREMENTS

Education:


  • Third level degree (required)
  • Project Management qualification (such as PRINCE2 or PMP) (not necessary but a bonus).

Experience:


  • 6 + years’ experience of relevant senior project management experience
  • Proven track record in managing and delivering large-scale projects, including project planning and monitoring, resource management (including project finances), benefits realisation, etc.
  • IT Infrastructure project management a must
  • Active Directory, Microsoft Office and/or data centre migration projects highly desirable
  • Infrastructure integration projects highly desirable
  • Financial Services industry desirable
  • Outstanding time management, organisational skills, oral/written communication skills, critical thinking and attention to detail is required
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with a track record in managing complex stakeholder programmes
  • Good understanding of project governance and change management principles
  • Experience working under pressure and against tight deadlines to implement pragmatic and intelligent decisions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate at both management board and end user level
  • Must be self-driven, proactive and seek continuous learning opportunities
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment including reporting and providing support to various teams and business units
  • Strong ability to work at a detailed level whilst being able to extract the appropriate level of information to senior management
