About Us
XS Assure (XSA) was launched in 2021 and is a specialist underwriter of financial and professional lines risks in the UK and internationally. XSA's core business has been underwriting UK Excess of Loss risks where it originates business from ~70 insurance brokers.
Over the next year, we are looking to double the number of insurance brokers we trade with and grow our premium written by 50% - 100%.
Operationally, XSA employs 7 staff who all work from home. Culturally, it's very entrepreneurial and fast-moving with a focus on always building a better, smarter business with little bureaucracy.
The Role
You will spend the majority of your time ensuring that our key data files (quote logs, risk raters and bordereaux files) are complete and up-to-date, issuing invoices to brokers and tracking and recording insurance premiums and preparing management reports.
Role and Responsibilities
- Undertaking checks on transaction files (underwriting risk raters) to ensure correctness and completeness
- Updating financial spreadsheets (master bordereaux) with daily transactions (underwriting risk raters)
- Reconciling master bordereaux spreadsheets with quote log spreadsheets
- Preparing and issuing monthly invoices (broker statements) for brokers to remit insurance premiums
- Tracking and reconciling premiums received by brokers against amounts owed by brokers
- Periodically chasing brokers on overdue premiums
- Creating various management reports, mainly using pivot tables
Role Requirements
- Minimum 3 years experience in insurance industry
- Minimum 3 years experience in insurance broking, underwriting, operations or finance roles
- Very strong MS Excel abilities; data integration, analytics, macros, etc.
- CII accreditations preferred
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office applications
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work in a remote team environment
