Probationary Part-Time Educational Assistant

Matthew Halton Gateway School requires a probationary part-time Educational Assistant (17.5 hours, 0.5 fte) to work with multiple students who require self-regulation and academic support in the classroom. Start date for this position will be August 29, 2023 for the 2023-2024 school year.
Desired qualifications include the following:
- Experience as an Educational Assistant or working with teens
- Familiar and confident with High School core subject material
- Demonstrates an understanding of self-regulation, and has experience utilizing self-regulation tools with students
- Ability to work independently to follow classroom and individualized student plans
- Experience with data collection
- Proficiency with technology and ability to deliver online support to students as required
- SIVA training/certification or equivalent, is an asset
- Demonstrates an ability to build relationships with students who require patience and flexibility with programming
- Ability to work collaboratively with the Learning Support Team; Behaviour Support Team; and outside agencies
