Job description
2024 Graduate Programme – Institutional Banking & Markets, London Branch
YOUR ROLE
The Institutional Banking & Markets (IB&M) Graduate Programme is a 12 month rotational scheme offering a unique and rewarding opportunity to get involved in real projects across different areas in IB&M such as Global Institutional Banking Coverage, Global Markets, Commodities, Trade & Carbon.
The programme commences on 5th February 2024, where you’ll join as a full-time permanent employee. Here you’ll get a taste of what it’s like working in IB&M at CBA, London Branch through professional development opportunities including being sent on a 6 week trip to Sydney at the beginning of your programme to participate in our Early Talent Academy, interactive masterclasses, training courses and graduate conference events.
Working with us means you’ll be part of a group of diverse thinkers where your contributions can make a difference.
The IB&M team performs a critical role in providing products and services to stakeholders and through the programme, you’ll have the exciting opportunity to work with major corporate, government and institutional clients and investors. By the time the programme concludes, you will have developed an amazing network, honed new skills and knowledge and be in a position to make an informed decision on the right team to join.
DO WORK THAT MATTERS
As a graduate, you’ll work on high profile projects. Depending on which area of the business you rotate in, you could be actively involved with financial analysis, financial modelling, preparation of pitch books, undertaking research projects, dealing directly with internal and external clients, and attending client and management meetings.
WE’RE LOOKING FOR YOU
The environment in IB&M is fast paced and dynamic. We’re looking for graduates who are adaptable, commercially aware, innovative and self-starting. You don’t have to be a finance graduate to fit into the IB&M team – we are open to all degree subjects and employ a range of people from engineering through to humanities backgrounds, all making significant contributions to the Bank.
Please note that to apply for our Graduate Programme you must either be in the final year of your studies or have graduated within the last 12 months. You must also hold the right to work in the UK.
WE INVEST IN YOUR FUTURE
At CBA, we’re committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce reflecting the customers, businesses and communities we serve. As a value’s driven organisation, we nurture and support our people; through focusing on skill and talent development, collaboration, flexibility and internal promotion. With service in mind at every touch point, we take accountability for the role we play in securing and enhancing the financial wellbeing of people, businesses and communities. At CBA you can be you.
The programme centres around 4 key elements:
1. Contribute from day one by working on real projects that impact our business and our customers.
2. Participate in market-leading training to develop your technical and soft skills. This will help with the transition to full-time work from University, and ensure you excel in your immediate and future roles.
3. Build networks and friendships through unparalleled access to senior leaders, project leads and programme sponsors, enhancing your personal and business profile.
4. Give back to the community through graduate initiatives, driving positive change across our organisation and improving the wellbeing of our graduate cohort.
