RPS has an exciting opportunity for a Utilities Inspector to work for the Asset Management team to Inspect and feedback on the condition of Assets and Infrastructure to achieve the goals of the Water Technical Business Stream across the UK.

RPS Water Technical is a team of Engineers, Modellers and Data Analysts providing Asset Management and Operational Strategy development, to our Water Industry clients to support business planning and delivery. This is an evolving industry, providing challenges and opportunities which require innovation, dedication and team work to help us meet our clients’ needs.
About RPS Water Technical:
It’s an exciting time to be working for our UK Water business as workload in the water market really takes off. With a broad portfolio of long-term framework agreements in place, we are ideally placed to help our clients deliver on the challenges facing them over the coming years - whether that is reducing leakage, pollution and flooding, or improving the environment and levels of service to their customers.
Our Water business employs around 1000 highly skilled and motivated people working on projects for all of the water and sewerage companies across the UK, and most of the water-only companies. We deliver a full range of end to end water and wastewater services including data collection and analytics; modelling and risk analysis / optimisation; data visualisation and mapping; artificial intelligence and machine learning solutions; feasibility studies; outline and detailed design of capital solutions; and development of optimised, risk based, operational interventions.

Who we are looking for:
An Inspector is expected to be capable of successfully Inspecting and reporting on Water and Sewage Infrastructure Assets. Each Inspection Report will capture features and relevant information related to the provision of health & safety measures and structural condition.
- Knowledge of Health and safety culture and it’s application
- Several years’ experience in Civil/Structural Engineering Inspection and Water site work would be preferrable
- Experience in Inspecting structural features, pipe bridges, pipe tunnels, along a pipeline would also be beneficial
- Civil/Structural Engineering Inspection skillsets from other utilities will be considered
- IT skills essential as all inspection reporting is electronic as well as familiarity with the MS 365 suite of programs
- Working to policies and procedures
- Must always communicate openly and honestly

- Contribute to a well-rounded and highly skilled team to help meet KPIs and grow the business
- Execute additional tasks to meet team Asset Management framework objectives
