Job description
Advanced Supply Chain are looking to welcome an Export Clerk into their Freight Forwarding department, you’ll be helping the wider Customs & Compliance team to deliver on our customer 1st value and continue to drive and deliver excellent customer service daily. As our Export Clerk you’ll be required to manage the end-to-end export process by ensuring timely and accurate delivery of shipments.
This is a full-time permanent position working at our Bradford site with the opportunity to also work hybrid. You’ll be coached and guided by your line manager on best practices and be given the opportunity to learn and develop more by enrolling onto our specialist Freight Forwarding courses.
Role and Responsibilities of our Export Clerk:
- Manage the processing of all export consignments in line with agreed best standard operating procedures
- Accurately maintain all files, ensuring they are costed and billed correctly and in accordance with procedures
- Receiving bookings from the customers as well as placing all bookings with the preferred carriers
- Actively helping the wider customs and compliance team by arranging deliveries and collections and liaising with overseas offices daily
- Booking and arranging transportation services with our carriers and making sure we are using an optimal cost-efficient route
Skills & Experience of our Export Clerk:
- Previous experience as an Export Cler, with an particular focus on export operations
- Strong communicator and able to work with both internal and external stakeholders
- Proficient in using industry specialised software relating to exports
- Strong administration skills with the ability to showcase excellent customer service skills
