Company description
AgriGrub is the UK's largest producer of Black Soldier Fly larvae, calciworms and associated products. We're a small company set to grow rapidly over the next few years in an exciting sector that is gaining more attention in the current climate.
Job description
Want to work somewhere completely different to the norm? AgriGrub currently has a small team, and is looking for a new member to step in and help to run day-to-day operations. The role is involves a number of different tasks across the week, broadly split into two areas:
1 Insect farming
Working with the insects, collecting fly eggs, caring for larvae, prepping insect feed and processing the insects and their products into end products.
2 Site Management
Cleaning, organisation, maintenance and basic repairs.
AgriGrub plans to expand the team rapidly, with future opportunities to advance and move into other roles.
This is an insect farm, so you need to be comfortable working with the calciworms and the waste feedstocks we use to grow them. You're not expected to have experience growing insects and will be working under a line manager and a senior operative with experience in growing them.
Previous agricultural experience is preferred but not required. A forklift licence (counterbalance or telescopic) would be preferred but not essential.
You will be working from our site in Tydd St Giles.
At AgriGrub we are committed to using food waste to grow these grubs and process them into environmentally friendly inputs for pet food and agriculture. Fighting climate change is central to what we do.
