PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Role Overview
The Global Cosmetics Planning Hub manages supply of 500M+ units of global brand cosmetics (Max Factor, Rimmel, Covergirl, Sally Hansen, Bourjois, Manhattan, Airspun) to 45 global markets via a network of 27 DCs.
Initiative planner core responsibilities:
Accountable for integration of initiatives, product changes, and other major changes into the Supply Chain.
Take full ownership of Launches, PIPOs or disco date for each product and constantly optimise this in order to minimise any negative inventory or service impact.
Engaging/updating internal and external partners on Initiative status, issues, action plans, and results.
IP Key Success Measures
Service – Delivering the Customer Fill Rate targets as a Global Value Stream
Inventory – Managing FG and NFG inventory performance ($M, SS, DOH) to target.
Capacity – Conducting weekly and monthly RCCP (Rough cut capacity planning) to identify risks to meeting ongoing demand from the production site (C: D >1.3)
VAR/E&O – Drive the work to minimise VAR (Value at Risk) and Excess & Obsolete inventory generation.
Master Data Accuracy – Ensure creation and maintenance of MD elements on time and quality.
Deployment: Plan Versus Ship for launch volumes.
Ensure successful delivery of new product initiatives and PIPO (Phase In Phase Out)
Contribute to the development and implementation of supply chain projects.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
Technical
Supply: Ensure product is delivered on time with proper timing to deliver proper service Ensure the complete supply plan is sufficient to support the initiative, including Product Samples and Base Product supply for Customization requirements Management of Service Risks via collaboration and communication with SIL, LCM,GIL, SIP MPS, SIP MSP, DRP, MSM escalating for leadership support where required. Identifies critical supply constraints and develops/ contributes to action plans to avoid Customer Service and production impacts
Inventory: Take full ownership of the Launches, PIPOs and discos date for each product and constantly optimise this in order to minimise any negative inventory and service impact. Primarily this involves the leading of run-out plan meetings with the SIP and LCM team to ensure ordering of all impacted components are synchronised with the PIPO date of the Finished product. Ensure that the MOQ for launches and PI is set up in line with current volumes. Participates in and contributes to monthly Inventory Parameter reviews in collaboration with DRP and inventory. Be clear on inventory drivers which you influence and take accountability for delivering FP inventory targets.
Project Management: Ensure that all Projects are delivered on time at each stage Monitor and challenge progress of support functions for all relevant CPS tasks. Drive project simplification & improvement programs Lead problem resolution, obstacle removal, escalation (when applicable) and creative thinking.
Capacity: Complete capacity assessment (ExO/In House/ Supplier) for their projects in scope and highlight any gaps with proposed solutions. Ensure the RCCP and inventory PIPO plan capture all project needs and constraints (e.g. list line downtime needed) for all initiative volume from launch through 12 months for all finished products, materials and distribution system. Ensure the initiative demand is reflected in the respective platform RCCP down to critical component level
Deployment Analyse and communicate the deployment of inventory across the network for launch volumes.
Demand Owns forecast request changes for Discos, PIPOS and Launches ensuring it doesn’t impact service or inventory Execute Demand Flow Verification Owns the demand adherence tool for launches and product changes ensuring that improvement plans are set up in place when necessary Translate initiative sizing into below the line data. Challenge any discrepancies on initiative sizing versus previous projects.
Communication: Reports internally the status of all initiatives and the latest service dashboard report including capacity, service, summary among other parameters in a weekly basis maintaining weekly connects with SIP, SIL and LCM. Report in a biweekly basis to external partners a communication with the markets to ensure that a common strategy is followed.
Master Data: Ensure the timely creation and costings of new Finished product and Material codes and BOMs in all necessary systems. Owns the Setup & Maintenance of SAP & JDA & OMP master data in line with Operating Strategy for launches, product changes and other major changes in time in full. Responsible for Master Data Cleanliness for all unactive codes.
Root causing: Owns the risk reporting and communication for launches and PIPOS. Support DRP Availability Planners with RCA for cuts, network risk and GOAL requests via value streams, as required.
Optimization: Measures & drives simplification & continuous improvement via standard work processes within their own area of responsibility. Contribute to the development and implementation of supply chain projects.
Relationships
Develop and maintain a pro-active relationship with internal hub partners (SIP, DRP, CSP, MSM, INV) and key external contacts (BUs,SIL, LCM) to facilitate stronger results through effective collaboration.
Training and Onboarding
IPS will have the ability to train and onboard new/less experienced individuals.
Backup
Provide back-up (vacation, training, illness, etc.) for other Planners.
ROLE SPECIFIC BEHAVIOURS
Mastery – In depth knowledge of SAP,OMP, JDA, MFR, Plan View, Salsify in respect to the IP roles and functionality which directly impact the IP function. Intermediate Microsoft Excel proficiency. Ability to recognise developing problems & puts in place a plan of action to resolve issues and/ or knows when to escalate for additional support. In addition, the ability to analyse large amounts of data and deliver a clear and concise outcome or proposal/ recommendation and proactively manage issues through to resolution. Acts as an owner of the business and is accountable for their own results. Plans & follows through. A high degree of autonomy is critical within the Material Planning SIP role. Ability to set own priorities on a daily basis. Build Collaborative Relationships – collaborates effectively & enthusiastically, both internally with the Planning Hub and externally with the Plant team, Leadership and the Plant Operations (verbal, written and face to face reviews). This will also include the ability to work as part of an effective team to ensure overall business priorities are met. Embraces Change – ability to adapt work plans based on emerging needs of the business (often daily) e.g. plan changes for Customer Service or as a result of Operational issues/ changes, short notice cover of other plans/processes due to sickness/holiday etc. Leads – Capable of involving the right people at the right time to ensure issues are overcome. Ability to lead Work Process, System or Results reviews and/ or training.
