Welcome to Hovis. We are the proud guardians of over 130 years of baking experience that make up our iconic and much-loved brand. We produce bread and bakery products created with Hovis goodness at the heart of each. We deliver around 1.3million loaves, every day of the week throughout the UK and Ireland, where we also make Mothers Pride and Ormo products.
We are 2,800 people working within 8 bakeries, 1 flour mill, and 2 regional distribution centres across the UK. Our success is a result of the hard work of our people; they are experts in their field whether it’s baking, manufacturing, logistics, engineering, or the many departments within the central functions team based in our head office in High Wycombe. Role Purpose:
Contribute to an efficient, customer-focused, manufacturing process through the effective operation of plant, equipment and systems.
Quality
- Liaises with the quality team with any quality issues as they arise.
- Understands the quality requirements in their area, ie the PQE standard to be achieved with every loaf.
- Adheres to the ingredient specifications and understand how that can impact if there are variations to the end product
Safety
- Adheres to all H&S requirements within site, department and area of responsibility.
- Promotes a safety-first culture at all times.
- Supports continuous improvements relating to Safety in all production processes by identifying issues in a timely manner and seeking the right corrective actions.
- Reports any hazards or safety incidents using the appropriate notification process so that all H&S issues are noted for reporting purposes across the business.
Compliance
- Adheres to all compliance processes in place.
- Ensures all checks and paperwork are completed and accurate in line with process.
- Weigh products in line with average weight legislation.
- Maintains GMP and Hygiene standards within all areas of production.
Process
- Adhere to all standard trained processes in place at all times.
- Highlight any concerns within the manufacturing process in the right reporting manner.
- Be an active participant in the continuous improvement processes within the manufacturing environment with regards to process and complaints.
- Ensure raw material waste levels are minimised through effective control.
- Accurately record raw material batch numbers, quantity, date, etc. on traceability documentation.
Finance
- Understand how your actions can directly affect business costs ie waste/absence.
- Understands how your shift is performing within set KPI’s ie overtime/waste/OEE.
