Overview:
Quinnipiac University invites applications for an Information Security Officer to assist the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) in developing and maintaining an effective University-wide information security program designed to maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the University's information systems.

Responsibilities:
Maintain and update the department’s procedures and assist with audit and compliance reviews
Mentor junior level security staff and provide guidance, training, and support
Provide staff and students with relevant security presentations on a quarterly basis
Prepare weekly reports to the CISO on the current state of security
Detect and respond to information security incidents that affect the organization
Develop, update, and maintain documentation for the department’s processes and procedures
Develop scripts, tools, and procedures to automate scans, assessments, and other monitoring and discovery activities
Investigate and address security-related alerts from internal and external parties
Lead the development and continuous update of the department’s SharePoint portal
Assist in email and network investigations for public safety, Legal and HR
Lead SIEM project, including all documentation, patching, updating, and reporting
Lead for Encryption, Antivirus, and backup rollout projects
Liaison to the Help Desk for all security related inquiries
Other duties as assignedEducation Requirements:
- Associate's degree required
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Experience may substitute for some of the above education requirements
Qualifications:
- Minimum of three (3) years of direct full-time information technology work experience
- Knowledge of relevant frameworks such as COBIT, CSF, NIST
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills including strong interpersonal skills
- Must display an outward mindset, be adaptable and be willing to learn and grow
- Information security evolves rapidly, and no single person is expected to possess every characteristic on this list. A curious mind, an ability to think about the rules and how others may attempt to break them, and a willingness to learn are the most important traits.
